We invite you to an evening of classical music performed by the Kyiv Mozart Orchestra. The evening's program will include the works of the Argentine composer Astor Piazzola, who made the whole world move to the rhythm of tango.

Astor Piazzola is an Argentine musician and composer of the second half of the twentieth century, whose works greatly enriched the tango genre. His main innovation is considered to be the invention of the "new tango", which differs from the traditional one by the inclusion of jazz elements, the use of richer harmony, dissonance and various polyphonic techniques, as well as the complication of a complete musical form. Piazzolla's music wonderfully combines the typical features of tango with other recognizable elements of Western musical cultures, making his music unique and widely known throughout the world.

At the Kyiv Mozart Orchestra concert, you will hear the orchestral cycle of "The Great Astor" (as the composer was called in his homeland) - "Seasons in Buenos Aires".

The name of the cycle is definitely associated with similar cycles of other composers, because leading artists of different eras addressed this theme. However, in his cycle, Astor Piazzola, as in all other works, does not follow the beaten path, depicting the change of seasons through musical means. Turning to such classical imagery, the composer points out that in his cycle we are talking about different periods of the life of a resident of the outskirts of the capital of Argentina. "Seasons in Buenos Aires" by Astor Piazzola is four large tangos or a lyrical suite about the feelings and fate of a "small" person in a big city.

In addition to the series "Seasons in Buenos Aires", the concert will also feature other equally fascinating works by Astor Piazzola. You will hear various versions of the leading genre of the composer - tango, which harmoniously incorporated elements of jazz and classical music.
