The Fifth of September is a defining moment that forever changed the way media coverage is conducted and continues to influence the modern format of live broadcasts. Set during the 1972 Summer Olympics in Munich, the film centers on an American sports team forced to quickly transition from sports reporting to live coverage of the dramatic events involving the taking of Israeli athletes hostage. Jeff, a young and ambitious producer, is eager to prove himself to his boss, legendary television executive Rune Arledge.
