You [Romance] is back. For the first time in cinemas, an original Ukrainian play. Theater should be what society should be tomorrow… …and cinema – the day after tomorrow. Khvylovy, Sosyura, Ostap Vyshnya, Les Kurbas, Mykhailo Semenko and Pavlo Tychyna – on the big screen. They have returned to remind us who we are. “You [Romance]” is a historical musical about artists who lived, created and died for creating in Ukrainian. About those who were not afraid to dream. Who believed that Ukrainian culture has a future. “You [Romance]” in cinema is the first original historical musical in Ukraine, which gives the opportunity to see writers of the last century as living people, and not names from textbooks. The story tells about the events in the House of Words in Kharkiv, where at the beginning of the 20th century the Soviet authorities killed hundreds of representatives of the Ukrainian creative elite. By creating a film version of the musical, the MUR team aims to start a trend of recording theatrical productions in order to digitize and preserve intangible cultural heritage.
